Resto Druids seem to be having a bit of an identity crisis. We used to be all about the proactive hot. All hots. It's getting hots in here, so take off all your clothes.
Long ago our handy-dandy Lifebloom was nerfed into the ground and stomped on furiously. It was "too efficient". Which was a fair call. Nothing wrong with a little leap to bound over. my "h" key is being a bastard.
Wildgrowth was nerfed. It was put on a cooldown, which was another reasonable nerf, no cooldown means a hot on every raid member withought spending muc prescious mana. It was very scary at the time but we have gotten used to it, for the most part.
Then comes Nourish. I personnaly love Nourish. It's so nice to have around as a reasonably sized direct heal. The buffs that were given to it are lovely! But maybe Nourish being such an awesome spell is why we may be forced to go a more direct healing route, rather than a hot tossing healing machine.
During most of Ulduar and still a few fights in ToC we blanket the raid in Rejuvenation. It's been incredibly efficient; even more so with the 4 set teir 8 bonus and Idol of Flaring Growth. Once again, maybe too efficient.
Now we get a nerf to Rejuvenation. Well, more of a sligtly late "fix". Rejuvenation blanketing will no longer be as effective.
So... Wit the Rejuvenation "fix", our GotEM buff and the teir 10 bonus it seems we are being incouraged to use Nourish and Wild Growth a lot more. Rejuvenation will still be effective. Just not as effective...
Why can't we just go back to the days when Lifebloom was op and Wild Growth had no cooldown? I guess that's how games evolve.
Nerfs happen all the time and we deal with them. It's just slightly harder when a nerf turns into a possibly large change in play stayle. I don't like change!
