Bloggers using their blogs to bad-mouth other Blogger's blogs. (Say that 3 times quickly.)

I understand there is not much to write about in WoW; content is dull, daily's are old and alts get geared so quickly due to said dull content that they become boring. It's no shock WoW commentaries have been slightly lack luster.

Regardless of the above excuses for lack of WoW writing juice, calling out one's hard work and dedication required to keep a blog up and running (let alone interesting) and forming a posse of "people who hate _________" is very sad and disappointing. Especially coming from these absolutely amazing writers who are more than capable of putting their skill to a good use, instead of (perhaps accidentally) making another humans feel like shit.

It's extremely disheartening and turn-offish to read these hate posts between common interest Bloggers.

Dear WoW ink slingers; I and every reader with a brain know you have the power, skill as well as the knowledge to write about something less hurtful and more inferential.

Vital organs are not so vital

A few days ago I decided to take advantage of the sub-interesting raiding content and level an alt. A Rogue I chose (wise choice!). She's been great fun to pvp with whilst leveling, I confirm Rogues are OP.

During the quest grind process I started to ponder the accuracy of some of these collection quests. I.e. "Bring me 14 bear livers." Not that this is a big deal and it does not effect the game for me at all. It's just something funny to think about. I guess that bear had no liver...?

Upon killing my quest mobs I noticed that not all mobs have vital organs such as livers, tongues etc. This can be easily ignored by realizing that if this was RL, an orc with two swords will rip the fuck out of a bear and leave nothing but a bloody pulp on the grass or take out a gun and shoot that cunt in the face; maybe that was Blizzard's loophole when designing the game; WoW is not RL.

But, I recently completed a quest that asked me to acquire 20 UNPOPPED spider eyes. This specification made me feel a lot better. It tells me that not every mob is guaranteed to drop an eye and/or I may have damaged the item while killing the mob turning it into pulposus um... pulp. Why havn't Blizzard added an extra adjective or two for all collection quests in order to squash any confusion? It's simple. Perhaps it's too simple to have any attention brought to it.

What can I say? My mind wanders to ammusing places. I'm going to hunt down bears irl with The Dawg bounty hunter. BEAR MACE BRAH!

All I did was go kitty!

Fuck Anub'arak Hard mode.

You may or may not have heard that Cat form on Anub'arak (not sure if it's on 25 normal, or 10 man) Hard mode can cause the spiky ground shit to suddenly drop you as a target and switch to some poor, unsuspecting drone. When this happens, or if some one dies from Pursuing Spikes it's a wipe. Full speed, raging, spiky death is probable.

Normally not being able to shift into kitty form is not such a bad thing, but this fight can require a lot of movement with only seconds to react; kitty is valuable. I had never heard of this 'bug' until last night when my guild attempted the insecty beast. Needless to say,(but I do what I want) I was surprised that upon shifting and sprinting I was no longer being persued. My lovely guildies let me know how they felt.

I'm not entirely sure if this is simply a mechanic of the fight or indeed a bug. I didn't think they would grow at all, actually. But here we are on week 4(I think) with 9 plants! It's like having my own little rain forest, only with less activity and heaps more dead brain cells. It will have Bananas soon, I guess that will may it more rain foresty.

Speaking of the Bananas, I'll be picking the biggest plants, adding Banana peel o' plenty and throwing the little ones out. That makes me so sad. Throwing out a perfectly good pot plant because of space issues. Not only that; I've grown a hallucinogenic bond with my plants, it's a strange relationship.

Maybe I'll do that instead of having kids! Blizzard.

Resto Druids seem to be having a bit of an identity crisis. We used to be all about the proactive hot. All hots. It's getting hots in here, so take off all your clothes.

Long ago our handy-dandy Lifebloom was nerfed into the ground and stomped on furiously. It was "too efficient". Which was a fair call. Nothing wrong with a little leap to bound over. my "h" key is being a bastard.

Wildgrowth was nerfed. It was put on a cooldown, which was another reasonable nerf, no cooldown means a hot on every raid member withought spending muc prescious mana. It was very scary at the time but we have gotten used to it, for the most part.

Then comes Nourish. I personnaly love Nourish. It's so nice to have around as a reasonably sized direct heal. The buffs that were given to it are lovely! But maybe Nourish being such an awesome spell is why we may be forced to go a more direct healing route, rather than a hot tossing healing machine.

During most of Ulduar and still a few fights in ToC we blanket the raid in Rejuvenation. It's been incredibly efficient; even more so with the 4 set teir 8 bonus and Idol of Flaring Growth. Once again, maybe too efficient.

Now we get a nerf to Rejuvenation. Well, more of a sligtly late "fix". Rejuvenation blanketing will no longer be as effective.

So... Wit the Rejuvenation "fix", our GotEM buff and the teir 10 bonus it seems we are being incouraged to use Nourish and Wild Growth a lot more. Rejuvenation will still be effective. Just not as effective...

Why can't we just go back to the days when Lifebloom was op and Wild Growth had no cooldown? I guess that's how games evolve.

Nerfs happen all the time and we deal with them. It's just slightly harder when a nerf turns into a possibly large change in play stayle. I don't like change!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://chroniclag.blogspot.com/2009/10/be-gentle-blizzard.html' title='Be gentle... That horrible phase when a new game is released and current WoW content is boring.

Now I'm not saying Aion was ment to be a major compeditor with World of Warcraft, but at this particular stage in WoW if "Ball in a cup!" was pixelized players would be curious and give it a peak. Plus Aion is pretty badass.

Although I'm not 100% sure why people hate ToC so much. Sure it's inanely short but most of the hardmodes are burly! Anub'arak hardmode especially. It's exorbitantly intense to heal and I love it. ( But I've only done it on 10 man.) Twins, and Faction Champs included. They're great fights and I'm enjoying learning the fights.

Raiders went through this same downer when Age of Conan was released. Players started pealing off for it because the game was lifeless, it felt more like a job for some than it did as entertainment. Attendance dropped significantly, players quit. But as always Blizzard cooked up and waved the spoon right in front of our faces and we were back to dpsing/tanking/healing crap.

Hopefully Icecrown and Cataclysm will keep us hooked for a bit longer. (If players don't quit for Aion permanently.)

Status update and Star Wars.

As you can see, my plants are coming along quite nicely. Started off with only five successful sprouts and now at ten!

I started this "experiment" haphazardly. I threw some seeds into some dirt and expected no more than two seeds to actually grow into the pretty little flowers they are now. Awesome, right?

Not really. Most people would be stoked to have such an awesome outcome out of what was a half baked plan. I don't have the space for ten bloody plants; nor can I bring myself to throw one of them out.

Looking into the future about 3 months from now I can picture myself in a blown up children's swimming pool decorated with ducks, wearing nothing but a giant shit-eating grin rolling around in my home grown. Tomb Raider : Anniversary has turn me into a sadist. It just hurts so good!

The puzzles in this particular game are extremely well thought out and quite satisfactory IF solved. Any one who may successfully beat one of the many games of this genre deserves a fucking party. Not just any party, but a party like the end of Star Wars episode 1.

All your friends dancing in the street, cheering you on, and the Gungan King winking at you.

I digress from my point.

The other element of this particular installment in the Tomb Raider series is the dodgy fucking game play. Maybe you're on a timed event of sorts and miss it because Lara (an extremely well trained acrobat) trips on a bloody rock and face plants into the dirt. Or more commonly, you're about to attempt a particularly gnarly jump but miss it because the camera angel decided you're not good enough to make this fucking jump and it randomly aims towards a corner in the other side of the room.*Grits teeth*

Some might ask " But Tree, why not follow a guide to help you figure out the puzzles?" Because I'm not a pussy. What's the point of a strategy game if one just looks up how to defeat all the puzzles?

I understand why some gamers do have to look it up. Some of the puzzles are almost impossible to solve on ones own. What? I'm supposed to scale all 19 of these identical pylons until I find a 4 inch crack Lara can safely jump up to the next tier of rock from? That's all fine and dandy until you find yourself still playing 4 and one half hours later muttering incoherent swear words to yourself and sporting seriously angry brow.

I live for the thrills of achievement and success.

This is a sick game. So good, so sick.

Aluminum foil - Friend or um not friend.

Who doesn't love tin or aluminum foil? It's easy, fast and keeps extraterrestrials away.

Personally I prefer a nice store bought bong; but it's not always possible to have one. If one is out of town, lost their usual smoking utensil, or just wants to give making their own pipe a try tin or aluminum foil is the way to go! Making a pipe has always been one of my favorite things to do. Get creative! One of my most loved aspects of a stoner is their inventiveness and abundance of creativity. (but most smokers just get high and wander off...) Almost any material can be crafted into a pipe.

A lot of people will disagree with me saying that aluminum or tin is a shitty material to smoke out of. But that's because they hold their lighter on the bowl for 45 seconds like they're smoking a fucking crack rock. The trick is to leave it on just long enough to get a drag out of it (about 3-5 seconds)

This is a perfect example of a really fantastic foil pipe. Kudos to whom ever made this!

If you're looking to make your own pipe that is a little more permanent and can be used over and over; head to your local hardware store. Copper pipes, foci t cover wire or whatever else you think can be used is most likely going to work. The wonderful thing about creating something is that the only boundary is one's imagination.

But if you're a chick like I am and don't know what the fuck to do in a hardware store you may be better off sticking with various foils or picking up random things from around the house and really letting your imagination roam.

Remember, almost ANY material can be used when crafting a pipe. Having NEVER grown any sort of plant in my life, I did not expect any thing to happen. I was pleasantly surprised to wake up on day four with the above results. Even more so that I used an average household lamp (most indoor gardens require a 60-150 wat bulb) to supply my seeds with their much needed nutrients.

The big question I have been asking myself has to do with the banana above that I haphazardly left on my desk within a few feet a mere three days ago.

I'm sure you have heard that Banana skins are supposedly good for most plants, something to do with the skin converging and shit with the soil and seeds. Mmmmmm potassium. But I've yet to see some one prove that it is indeed a growth booster.

Do you smell a project? I fucking do!

So along with updates on how my pretty little sprouts are doing, I'll be testing out this theory.

But the big question is do I
A. Peel the Banana and shove the peel directly in with the seeds?
B. Let the peel soak in water then feed the water to the seeds?
C. Dry out the peel then break it up into little live altering bits then stick them in the soil?
D. Simply lay the peel on top of the seeds?
or E.Grind up potassium pills and mix them in with the fertilizer?

Ponder...Ponder....Ponder.

Personally I'm leaning towards option A. But who knows! Well, most likely a professional horticulturalist... But whatever.

My plan is to give all five options a try and compare them. What do you think?

Chronic Lag!

Let's make this thing official!
